Description

Maitake is a support tower who uses poisonous flasks to damage enemies. At level 2, she gains the ability to heal most types of Summons, such as Slime King's Slimes, Kart Kids, and Hayes's Crows.

Pros

Cons

Immune to stuns. Can deal with most early-game threats if you spread out multiple along the path. Level 3 has splash damage while level 4 and 5 have area damage. Can heal summons up to 50 health with Spectre, most noticeable with Hayes & Beetrice's low health summons. Has hidden detection from Level 1, which helps with early wave Ghosts. Combos well with other effect towers such as Dumpster Child, since different effects can stack on enemies. Levels 4 & 5 can remove stuns from other Heroes in her range. She can be used for early waves.

First two levels can only hit one enemy, making Maitake struggle against crowds and fast enemies. Though, Level 3 is a single-target, but has splash damage. Poison-Type enemies are highly resistant to her Poison, causing her to deal very low damage to them. Unlike Dumpster Child, uses the same Effect on every level, and thus cannot stack. Later levels are incredibly expensive for their damage output, especially when compared to Dumpster Child.

Trivia

• She is named after the Hen-of-the-wood fungus, for short, Maitake.
• She was added along with the Grand Garage map.
• Her description in the TH Info Place is "Turn into mushrooms!".
• Maitake is one of the only towers designed by Smelly, the other being Slime King.
• Her removed Blue Maid skin was a reference to Rem from the anime Re:Zero.
  • The Blue Maid skin was revamped into the Cheerleader skin for Voca during the Halloween 2020 Update.
• Her Gloomtake skin was based off of and was made by GloomShroom, a tower heroes fanartist.
• Despite having her bangs covering her face, she actually has eyes behind them. If you position your spectator camera (Can be accessed by pressing Shift+P) correctly, or if your wifi is bad and her hair doesn't load, you can see her closed eyes behind her bangs.
• Maitake is the 1st tower to be immune to stuns, 2nd being Lure and 3rd being Nuki Launcher.
